Yanni Bistro is truly a hidden gem in Matthews, NC. I’ve been here a few times before and always loved their food—especially the salads, which are consistently fresh and flavorful. And let’s not forget the gingersnaps. It seems like every time I visit, they’re generously offering complimentary gingersnaps. Today, I stopped in on a whim during my day off and ordered a lavender latte with almond milk and a gluten-free BLT. I decided to sit outside, soaking in the minimalist decor and letting the sound of birdsong become the soundtrack to my morning. Then something unexpected and lovely happened—the owner brought my BLT out to me personally and struck up a conversation. What started as a quick meal turned into a 30-minute, soul-filling talk about food, wellness, and the importance of clean ingredients. I learned that everything on the menu is sourced locally from the farmers market next door, and I could genuinely feel his passion and care behind every bite. Yanni Bistro gets 10 out of 5 stars for their incredible customer service, peaceful atmosphere, and commitment to healthy, locally-sourced ingredients. They also offer fantastic gluten-free and vegan options, which is a huge plus. If you’re in the area—go. Take yourself on a breakfast date. You might just leave with more than a full belly.

No BS no gluten,artificial flavors etc just pure quality healthy ingredients!! Me and my husband had the best time here just enjoying and savoring the moment. This kind of food is hard to come by! Owner is the bomb! Yanni! Very respectful, open minded individual. Had a talk and shared simple but amazing wisdom. FOOD was very clean, healthy, LOCAL. I noticed the detail in the food also, one vegetable cut a special way and another a different way. Will definitely be back with buds of mine to try it out 🙋🏼♂️
We had a wonderful time at Yanni’s. The owner and food are fabulous! We really enjoyed the chicken sandwich and chicken salad sandwich. Yanni was so kind. He gifted us a sample of his wonderful falafel and a Japanese roasted vegetable. Everything was delicious. My sister-in-law can’t wait to host her birthday party there.

It's a super cozy place! I looking for a restaurant for healthy savory breakfast, and I found it. Our meals were so delicious and good served. The atmosphere is very authentic! Highly recommend this place for everyone who prefers aesthetic and healthy food!
Yanni let me throw my matron of honor a bridal shower here and it was beautiful! He was so nice and accommodating, the food was perfect- tapas style-, and let us stay for as long as we wanted. Highly recommend this cute little gem for all of your small party needs!
Had such a wonderful experience at this place! The food was incredibly delicious, everything tasted fresh and made with care. The coffee was amazing as well — honestly one of the best I’ve had in a while. The atmosphere is warm, cozy, and very welcoming. You can really feel that this place has its own soul. And the owner is absolutely wonderful — you can tell everything here is done with heart and passion. Places like this are rare. Highly recommend visiting!
Absolutely delicious food! We met the chef Yanni he was very kind and made such good food for us. We loved our experience the only critique I have is sticky floors on the way to the bathrooms and slightly not so clean or updated renovated bathroom and kitchen/dining area. Would love to see freshly painted walls, more modern floors and updated interior for a fresh look. Just more cleanliness as well. Otherwise highly recommend!!!
